Just a comment -- poetry by Luke Leonardo

A million comments are made every day

ideas meant to be passed on

A lie masquerading as a truth, a guise for what they won’t say out loud.

Just a comment that a biracial child would be confused about their place in the world

Just a comment to justify why they shouldn't exist

to justify why Whites should marry Whites and Blacks marry Blacks.

Just a comment that falls on deaf ears

an idea seen as the guise for the hate it is

an idea putting distance between two sides of my family.

Luke Leonardo is a high school student in Massachusetts enjoys playing the bass guitar and fishing, along with reading in his spare time. Books related to history are his favorite genre and he finds it fascinating to learn about how different historical events influence us in the modern-day.
