an erasure of 1 Corinthians 13

Men or angles, tongues of Love:

mysteries.

I am nothing.

I gain nothing.

Love is no truth.

Love failed knowledge.

It talked like,

thought like,

a child.

To know fully, as I am fully known:

a mirror

remains the greatest Love.

Adelaide Bae is a sophomore in New York City. She is currently taking her first class in poetry; although it is a little outside her comfort zone, she is really enjoying it. She is drawn to the technique of Erasure poems, in particular, because it gives the poet an opportunity to critique or complement the original text. She is a black belt in Taekwondo and spends most of her time playing sports, mainly soccer and track.
